Mental Health Clinic in Marib Changing Lives

As part of the Food Security and Livelihoods projects, and with generous funding from #DRA, in partnership with #Cordaid, Nahda Makers Organization implemented a unique intervention under the Joint Response Project in the Mental Health Sector in Marib Governorate.

This initiative included the operation of a specialized mental health clinic under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed, Consultant in Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment, who holds the Arab Board and the Egyptian Fellowship – Cairo.

The clinic provides its services free of charge until the end of 2026, during morning hours from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a visiting psychiatrist present one week at the end of each month.

The clinic offers the following services:

  • Specialized psychiatric consultations

  • Individual and group psychosocial support

  • Prescription of psychiatric medications based on diagnosis and availability

  • Online sessions via Zoom / Google Meet / Microsoft Teams

  • In-person consultations during the monthly visit of the consultant psychiatrist

The clinic targets individuals suffering from:

Anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), autism, hyperactivity, addiction problems, schizophrenia, and psychological trauma.

This intervention aims to promote mental and psychological well-being among the population in the governorate by providing therapeutic and awareness services that ensure individual psychological welfare and contribute to building healthier and more resilient communities.
