Nahda Makers Implements Specialized Trainings within the Project “the Integrated Water Resources Management to Enhance Resilience of Agriculture and Food Security Project”

The implementation of the “the Integrated Water Resources Management to Enhance Resilience of Agriculture and Food Security Project” project continues in Al-Silu and Al-Mawaset districts of Taiz Governorate, funding from the German Federal Government through the German Development Bank #KFW, implemented by #UNDP in cooperation with #Nahda_Makers Organization, which aims to enhance water resource management and improve food security and livelihoods in local communities.

As part of the project’s activities, trainings were recently conducted on “Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Community-Based Flood Early-Warning System in Fragile Communities Manual”, targeting 51 participants in each training from Water User Associations in Al-Silu and Al-Mawaset districts.

These trainings aim to strengthen governance and build institutional and technical capacities of the National Water Resources Authority, offices of Agriculture and Irrigation, and Water User Associations/Committees in the targeted areas. The training also contributes to promoting good water governance, ensuring community ownership and accountability in operation and maintenance, improving water resource monitoring mechanisms, and expanding women’s participation in water management.

These activities come as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community resilience and improve the sustainability of water resources, thereby supporting agricultural development and food security in vulnerable areas.
