Call for Applications: DAFI Scholarship Programme for the 2026-2027 Academic Year
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Yemen, in partnership with Nahda Makers Organization (NMO), is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the DAFI Scholarship Programme (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative) for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The scholarship aims to support qualified refugee girls by providing access to higher education opportunities. This year, the programme offers 20 scholarship seats for obtaining a Higher Diploma in medical and health-related fields only at accredited colleges and universities in Aden and Hadramout Governorates.
This scholarship is exclusively dedicated to refugee girls residing across the Republic of Yemen who wish to continue their education in medical and health-related fields.

Important Note:
Applications may be completed in either Arabic or English. Paper applications, email submissions, or applications sent through any method other than the online platform will not be accepted.
Eligibility and Admission Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be female.
- Hold a valid Refugee ID Card or Refugee Certificate.
- Not possess a Yemeni national ID or Yemeni nationality.
- Be between 17 and 28 years of age as of 31 December 2026.
- Have obtained their secondary school certificate within the last five years.
- Have successfully completed secondary education (Science Stream) with a minimum score of 65% or its equivalent. For certificates issued outside the Republic of Yemen, the certificate must be authenticated by the relevant authorities in the country of issuance, authenticated by the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen, and officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Yemen.
- Be interested in pursuing one of the accredited medical or health-related disciplines, such as Nursing, Midwifery, Pharmacy Technician, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Assistant, or other accredited medical and health specializations.
⚠️ Important Notice:
Any secondary school certificate issued outside Yemen will not be accepted unless it fulfills all authentication and equivalency requirements mentioned above. Applicants will not be able to enroll in an educational institution or benefit from the scholarship without completing these procedures.
Required Documents:
The following documents must be uploaded as part of the online application:
- Secondary School Certificate.
- Motivation Letter explaining the reasons for applying for the scholarship and the applicant’s educational aspirations.
- Copy of a valid Refugee ID Card or Refugee Certificate.
- Completion of all required information on the online application platform.
Important Notes
- Application to the scholarship is completely free of charge and does not require the payment of any fees.
- All required documents must be uploaded through the online platform before the application deadline.
- Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
⚠️ Important Notice
- Failure to attach the required documents or submission of inaccurate information may result in disqualification from the evaluation and selection process.
- Any certificate issued outside Yemen that has not completed the required authentication and equivalency procedures will not be accepted. Failure to meet these requirements will prevent the applicant from enrolling in an educational institution or benefiting from the scholarship.
