#NMO_ORG distributes locally-produced fuel-efficient cooking solutions accompanied by orientation on its use

With support from #DKH , the #NMO_ORG distributed locally-produced fuel-efficient cooking solutions accompanied by orientation on its use, as part of a project “Increasing Resilience through Innovative and Sustainable Improvement of Food Security and Livelihoods for Returnees, IDPs, Migrants and Host Communities in the Western Coastal areas of Yemen”.

This project, which is being implemented in Al-Mukha and Al-Khokha, works to address part of the challenges facing the western coastal region located on the Red Sea, which includes traditional fishing communities, by providing fuel-efficient cooking solutions and encouraging food drying practices while introducing enhanced food processing (drying) using solar dryers on land at the family and community level, it also works to create income-generating job opportunities.

The organization recently distributed 130 solar cookers and heat packs to provide locally produced, fuel-efficient cooking solutions with guidance on their use.

Blacksmithing and sewing workshops were also opened to produce fuel-saving solutions and then distribute them to the beneficiaries in order to promote the products and inform the beneficiaries of the workshop locations so that they can become familiar with the local market.

All of this aims to enhance existing livelihood strategies and make them more sustainable through the successful introduction of innovative, locally adapted products and processes.
